Happy Birthday, Mom

Don't worry, you're still looking good for 31. Thanks for feeding me the watermelon roll from Friendly's! Dad sure knows how to make you happy, huh? Anyways, just wanted to say Happy Birthday (a couple days late)! Pretty soon you'll get to celebrate my BIRTH-day!

Love,
Peanut

My Belly is on Steroids

Tim has been off to Disney World (on a conference, but don't feel too bad, he got in a round of golf) and therefore there are no pics to accompany this post. However, we'll get another one up soon. Not only do I feel a bit (okay, a lot) larger than a few weeks ago, I've got an alien shaking things up! Four or five times a day, the peanut is moving enough to see from the outside world. While brief, the movement is pretty neat - shocking, really.

New project

I generally try to learn new skills and complete projects myself, but I consulted the experts on this one. Tim had received a beautiful glider from a family member and the upholstery didn't exactly match our decor. Trying to to use as much as we can we already have, I asked a seamstress at work to help me out. She gave me tips on what kind of fabric to purchase, accessories needed (covered buttons and roping), and told me she'd be willing to work on it!

Before: I wish I had taken a full before picture. This is the chair stripped down, including the skirt.

AFTER!
I love this print, even though it's a bit louder than I would normally be attracted to. I think it will look fantastic in the nursery next to the yellow walls. I'll take a picture once it's move up. It's a bit heavy for me to be moving right now. :-)

I have enough fabric to hopefully reupholster an ottoman - if we can find one.

Sunday is the day of rest....

Wow have we been a little busy!!! The Seattle trip was fantastic! I posted a few pictures on facebook, but if you didn't catch it here's the trip in a nutshell. Five days/ four nights with Ellen of which we caught a Mariner's Game (my 17th baseball park), went on two whale watching trips in the San Juan Islands, had lunch at the Space Needle, cruised through Pike's Market, went on the Underground Tour, and finished up with a nice soak in the hot tub and pool. Overall it was a wonderful trip. Spending gal time with Ellen was fantastic and I didn't feel the least bit guilty. By the way, the boys golfed all weekend. I felft fantastic even after the long flights and got aisle seats most of the time. Pheww....

After arriving back to Vermont on Wed, I worked on Thursday, and took Friday off to welcome the Dee family to The Green Mountain State. What a fun time!! We all went to the Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Bob Dylan concert on Friday night and listened to some great legendary musicians. I can't say that Dylan was all that great, but at least I can say I've seen him. The boys went to the brew fest on Saturday (despite a sketchy forecast) while the girls went the the Shelburne Museum and shopping. We wrapped up with dinner at the Church Street Tavern and naps. Dad slept right through bocce and our late night movie.

Timmy you better get your sleep in now!

I capped off the busy weekend with a Country Show with my friend Lauren while Tim worked. it should be against the law to be this hot. Keith Anderson....swooon....

So, now baby stuff! Here are some updated Nursery pics! We've finished painting, carpet is in, and some wall hangings are up. We may end up changing, but I love the messages in these - girl or boy. Speaking of which, I've come to grips with this whole finding out the gender thing. We started registering this past weekend in Maine and I realized that gender neutral stuff isn't all that bad. Especially when you're planning on having at least two kids. In fact, I'm digging it. This baby is already mellowing me out....

Here are a few pics! (Don't forget you can double click on each picture to enlarge)

Our future smarty pants already has a collection of great books. Gifts and yard sale finds galore!

I absolutely adore the yellow.

20 weeks = First Flight

This Thursday marks the halfway point and what better way to celebrate than a trip! A girls trip that is! While the boys plot and scheme their golfing adventures in Portland, Ellen and I leave for Seattle Friday morning. I'm very excited to see Safeco and for our whale watching trips, but I'm more excited to spend some QT with one of my best friends. These trips might become less and less frequent, which is all reason to plan for it when you can!

Wish me luck on getting a coveted aisle seat and that my bladder stays strong!

For those anxiously waiting a new belly pic (yes, Mom, you!) - here's one taken yesterday.

Triplets?!

From Tim: For the folks who noticed the three little peanuts swimming around in the new widget on the left, no, we're not having triplets! :) I was just messing around with the a new ticker I found on the internet. Just kidding about the triplets! Now THAT would be pretty crazy.

Team Green

Today didn't really end up the way that we had planned....BUT, it could have been a lot worse. First, Vermont Teddy Bear laid off 15 employees this morning and thankfully I was NOT one of them. Second, the sonogramist confirmed that our Ultra Screen tests (any abnormalities) came back absolutely perfect and the peanut is thriving! Thirdly, we have a prude kid. Now, honestly, either way I'd be happy with a prude kid, but I'd prefer to know if it was a boy prude or girl prude. Legs were fully crossed and the umbilical cord was covering the crotch area. I have to admit I was very disappointed. Kind of like going on vacation and your flight is cancelled. Patience is not one of my strongest virtures and now I have to wait a bit longer. I know, why am I having kids, right?

After I calmed down a bit, I'm really focusing on the good news. S/he is very healthy. Strong heart beat (146), great measurements, all the organs had its parts, the bones were prominent, etc. just a litte prude :-) I'll have Tim post pictures from the sonogram.

I think the stubborn Dee family gene is already present. Oh boy....
