Happy Memorial Day!

We remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country on this very special day.

We spent the night in Woburn and enjoyed some time outdoors in between sprinkles.  Lots of yummy food and sweet treats to be had by all!

Memorial Day Part II

Per tradition, we went to the South Portland Memorial Day Parade.  Abby was stoked for the candy throwing parade marchers.  The most touching moment (s) was when current members of the armed forces (and it happened at least twice) thanked the gentleman next to us for his service. This gentleman was wearing a hat that identified him as a hero.  Tears.

Let the festivities begin!

Abby Does Fenway

What a treat!  Abby (and Mom & Dad) went to her third Sox game and we had a blast.  Lunch at Boston Beer Works followed by 7 strong innings at Fenway did the girl in. She fell asleep on the walk to the car.

The BIG triangle!

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Trish as she was a good source of laughter, too!

Getting our Garden On!

We started tending the garden this past week and went to town today.  We have gorgeous flower beds and I am thankful that the previous owner was a "lazy gardener".  The beautification just takes a short time and then we get to enjoy all summer long.  We do have to divide these hostas, but they keep on getting put off.  Maybe in the fall..

My little helper! She was awesome! Ninety minutes of lugging edging to the barrels.

Happy Five Months Sam!

Aww, Sam the Man is five months old.  I was definitely not on the ball yesterday and am a day late.

FIVE MONTHS!

Sam is drooling like it's his job (didn't I say that last month??) and his first tooth is ((((this)))) close to popping through.  He is such a sweetie who loves to laugh and play.  He has been a bit fussy because of this teeth so we have teething toys kicking around and of course he puts his full fist in his mouth.  I adore coming home and seeing his face light up at the sight of me.  His gummy smile from ear to ear is just melt your heart awesome.  The belly laugh that goes along with it is equally as awesome. He loves bouncing in his jumperoo and sits with us at dinner on his Bumbo.  He is still sleeping through the night from 8am - between 6:30//7am.  (YAY Sam!)  He eats like a champ getting (5) 6 oz bottles or so.  We moved up to his Bum Genius  diapers a couple of weeks ago and after switching out the elastics, we're good as gold.  I am quite pleased that we've been able to use Abby's diapers with just a few adjustments (yay for saving money and the earth!).

Happy Birthday, Sam!

Sea Dogs 2013

We really have pretty awesome neighbors.  Since it is getting nicer out, we will often see folks out and about.  Neighborhood kids will come out to play, waves from behind the lawnmower, or stops to chat while we're in the yard.  Jon and his wife Melody offered us three tickets to the Sea Dogs game on Saturday and of course we jumped on it!  It was the perfect way to celebrate Sam's 5 month birthday and Abby's 3 1/2 birthday.  Holy cow.  We all had a blast and both kids were rockstars all day.  Abby LOVED getting the pink lemonade and the Sea Dog biscuit. Yummy!

First Sleepover!

Abby had her first sleepover!  We hung out with some of our dear friends kiddos while they attended an out of town wedding.  We had so much fun playing, eating pizza, and jumping on the trampoline.

All three kiddos slept in the same room and slept ALL night.  Awesome!

House by the Sea

It is 1.8 miles from our driveway to our feet in the sand at Crescent Beach. It's almost time to get the beach pass again and the many summer days and nights by the ocean to come.  I'm so thankful we were able to find a home so close to the sea.  I have always wanted to be back in Maine and I'm so very, very thankful Tim wanted the same.  I have starfish in each window and first thing in the morning, this is what I see when I open the curtains.  It almost always takes my breath away and reminds me how much I have to be thankful for.  My my wicked awesome husband, two awesome kids, crazy and awesome family, satisfying job, a good roof over our heads, and warm food in our bellies.

It's a blessing I tell you...a true, simple, blessing.

May you have peace in your life by the sea or where ever it takes you.

Happy Mother's Day!!

I was reading my Mother's Day card from Tim out loud to Abby:

Me: Because you're such a great wife and Mom, Today is all about you:
Abby:  ME!!!??
Me:  No, sweetie...me
Abby: (crestfallen look, down cast eyes....) Oh.

Yes, that's right kiddo, It's all about me today!!

Happy Mother's Day to all my aunts, cousins, friends, sister in law's, and especially my own Mom, it takes a village to raise a family and we are so lucky to have all these special Mom's in our life!

Maine Wildlife Farm

What a fun day!  We met up with the Benson's and enjoyed a nice afternoon walking around the Wildlife Farm in Gray.  Lots of animals, fish, turtles, etc to check out and feed!  We need to remember more quarters next time.

Back to Swim Lessons

Abby loves the water!  She had a blast swimming while we were in Florida and even requested swim lessons over dance class for our Spring activity. She is in the barnacles class and it's PARENT FREE!  Oh my how our little girl is getting to be a big girl.

Her teacher Charlotte called her name, took her hand, and off she went with just a bubble on.

Going Vertical

Sam is getting stronger and stronger which means he is sitting up in his bumbo, getting lots of tummy time and finally in his jumperoo.

He LOVES it!  We put a book under his feet to ensure he can jump on his own.  His facial expressions are just priceless as he focuses on the animals and twirling the wheel to make sounds.  Just awesome

He's so animated and making lots of sounds.  He can tell a story like no one's business.

Cookies for My Wedding

Me:  Abby, can you please put away your cookies (wooden ones for her kitchen)?
Abby:  Sure, these are for my wedding.
Me:  Oh really?  Can I come?
Abby: No, you can't come and Sam can't come. Only Dada can come.
Me:  Oh, okay.
Abby:  I'll drive you to Mimi's and drop you off and then pick you up on my way home.
Me:  Alright.
Tim:  Who are you getting married to?
Abby: YOU!
Me:  I'm going to eat your cookies then.
