Ready for School

Abby says some pretty funny stuff.  We often say that we need to write it down.  Then we don't.  And forget.

The great thing about this blog is that it motivates me to keep our family and friends informed on our happenings, but also to keep a record of milestones, memories, and the fun!

With all the back to school stuff happening this week, Abby's day care has been bustling with the new morning routines.  As we were preparing for our day, Abby grabs her pink back pack and claims that she is needs to pack her teddy, snack, and blanket for 1st grade. The next day she was packing for kindergarten.  I tell her that she gets to go in two years!  With her selective hearing, she thought I said two days.  Uh oh....  This girl is ready!

Happy 8 Months Sam!

Sam is a mover!  At eight months we still only have two teeth, but I swear there are more coming!  We need to give him toys on the changing table so he doesn't get poop everywhere! AND, so he doesn't roll off.  He is a squirmy wormy!  He is army crawling (or rolling) where he wants to go and sitting up unassisted.  He loves to play with his blocks and other stacking toys.  Sams loves food and isn't happy unless we're shoveling it it.  He's enjoying a wide variety of fruits and vegetables along with some pasta and a little bit of chicken.  He's loving life and has such a sweet disposition. We are seeing signs of "boy" in that he loves to throw things, pull Abby's hair, and give his mama sweet kisses.  In fact, I'm pretty sure his first word is "mama".  Ask Abby - she heard it to! :-)

Sam's first Red Sox Game!

What a way to celebrate 8 months!

We booked it from Vermont to Boston on Saturday morning (after a trip to urgent care for a little conjunctivitis for Abby) and made it to Fenway just in time!!!!  Abby was thrilled to point out the "Triangle" or Citgo sign and showing Sam the ropes in the park.  The bathrooms, cotton candy, soda, and sausage dogs! And of course, the drummers after the game!

More Fun in the Sun

We followed up a beautiful night with a day at the sand bar, a local state park in Vermont.  The kids had a blast being water babies and sand kids!

Working it like it's our day job!

Passing the Camera Off at Snow Farm

We spent our last summer days off in Vermont and visited a brand new baby - Miss Mia!  Her big brother Myles and parents are just smitten with her! While visiting we got a group together at Snow Farm Winery, which sponsors weekly concerts for families.  So nice to see everyone!

I passed off the camera and got some of my favorite shots :-)

North Conway

After an eventful trip to Story Land, we took a stroll to Diana's Bath's - a gorgeous 1/2 mile walk to beautiful waterfalls.  Upon reaching our destination, Abby says, "WHAT?!" in an incredulous, excited sort of way.  Diva.

Storyland!

Now, this was an adventure.  We took advantage of their Last Three Next Day Free promotion where you pay full price after 3pm and you get to enjoy another day at the park for free.  Abby was just beside herself with excitement!  I saw the confidence growing before my eyes - exponentially!  She rode the roller coaster, the raft ride, the Bamboo chutes (log flume), and so many more!  She loved tossing the balls around in the Loopy Lab.

Off to Cinderella's castle!

Look, Mom! No hands!

The Loopy Lab

Sam chilled most of the day - I think he was just excited to be with us

Abby was invited to Tea with Cinderella where she learned, "etiquette".   Next time you see her, ask what it  means!

out cold
Abby was the perfect age to enjoy all the rides, concessions, characters, and games.  She just squeaked by on the height requirements.  Sam was content just riding around in our borrowed double stroller (thanks Ellen and Brian!), being snuggled in the ergo, or watching the sites.

Definitely will be going back next year!

B2B 2013

This years race was just as emotional as last year and a whole lot more fun!  We were up early *6:30) to cheer on the runners who were being shuttled to the start line on our road, which was closed at 7:15.

We had so much fun!  Next year, Music and Mimosa's.  Who's in???
