Still in Maine....

Our trip to MiMi and Grampy's house has gone well and we're enjoying our stay. Abby is growing before our eyes and has started to grow out of her newborn clothes (WHAT???!!!) so I went shopping at Carter's Outlet in Freeport. While I completely positive she does not need any more clothes..shopping for her is way too fun, AND, since we didn't bring any of her 0-3 month clothes, I had to, right?

We've been fortunate to visit lots of friends while we were here and enjoy quality time with them..not just a rushed visit. Abby has been great with all the visits! Last night we visited the Guerrettes in Lisbon and she even entertained the curious hands and eyes of a four and three year old. They were super excited to talk about their baby sister to-be, "blueberry". Hanging out with Abby is a dose of what is to come!

A long few days makes a sleepy Abby...check out her glow seahorse that Santa brought for her!

Here is Abby hanging out with Daddy - a cute kid with a cool Dad.

Merry Christmas!

We're a couple days late in blogging land to send our Christmas wishes, but we've been busy!!

We celebrated Christmas Eve with the Legere family (my Mom's side) and Abby met 34 of her great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and second cousins. Pheeww! She was a champ and laughed, smiled, slept and only cried when she got hungry. Here's her Uncle Chris with her in the ONLY picture we took. I have no idea how that happened, but it did....Cute outfit!

We entertained the Burlingame family (Tim's sister and family) on Christmas Day. Our nephews enjoyed rides around the house on the four wheeler. Pretty soon Abby will be riding around! Here she is sporting her Christmas Day outfit!

Finally, we celebrated the day after Christmas with the Dee family (my Dad's family). Here Abby met more great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. She even met one of her second cousins! We had a blast in all three get togethers and now am enjoying a nice Sunday relaxing...well, at least Abby is! Mom is off to a Brunch with some gals and Dad is off to the movies with his BIL's.

We hope everyone had a great Christmas!

Love,
The Proctors

Abby is One Month Old.....

... I know, when the heck did that happen.

She's thriving! Sleeping pretty well, eating well, getting chubby cheeks, has a mild case of baby acne, and is squirming around. She's much more active than when we first brought her home and makes eye contact quite a lot. According to the official book (Your Baby's First Year week by week) she can see about 18 inches away and loves goofy faces. Between her father and I, she's getting a lot of action in that department.

Here's a snap shot of her today!

Yes, she's really smiling!

Day care found!

After several home visits and center tours, we finally found an open spot we LIKED for Abby. Fortunately it is close to Tim's work and not that out of the way for me. We love the infant room, love the girls who run it, and kind of like the price. Day care is naturally expensive and this one is no exception. Ahhhh, the things we do for our kids, right??? We may not be here for a long time with an impending move to Maine, but it's nice to know she'll be in good hands.

EDIT: I forgot to add that Abby will already have a friend in the one year room. My coworker from VTB just got a new job in the same Mill that Tim works in and changed day cares. She actually recommended Freedom Rains and we already had the tour scheduled! It was a good sign!.

Abby visits with Santa!

Albeit sleeping, Abby gave Santa her wish list to Santa: World Peace, end to hunger, a Green planet, a glow sea horse, and Sophie the giraffe. I know she'll be getting at least two of those :-)

I'm pretty sure she was the youngest one there and she was a champ during the 45 minute wait. Mom and MiMi went shopping while Daddy waited with Abby. Santa wanted to keep her for his workshop - I have to admit, he was a good looking Santa, but Abby was coming home with us!!

MiMi's visit

MiMi left on Sunday after a wonderful visit. I know Abby misses her very much!! We spent the week going out on the town, shopping, visiting Teddy Bear and Daddy at work, going out to lunch, and of course sleeping and pooping.

MiMi learned first hand how easy cloth diapering is and of course learned how easy it is to fall in love with the most precious little girl. I could find Abby quite frequently asleep on MiMi's chest.

Here are some pictures from the trip:

Okay, so maybe Mom misses MiMi, too.....

Abby Pics by a Professional

Our friend Amy took pictures of Abby when she was four days old. She claims she's not a professional, but I beg to differ. She certainly has an eye and a cool camera, too. Tim and I might be in the market for a new toy and some lessons if we have time. Here are a few of them....

I told you she was good! The last picture is one of my all time favorites....'cause we only have a few hundred pictures or so in her days of life...

Tub Time

Abby's umbilical cord finally made its exit late last week. In honor of the de-stinking (peee--uuuu, it stank!), we gave Abby her first bath last night. She wasn't as hysterical as I thought she would be. Tim and MiMi prepared the water and used our ducky to test the temperature of the water. When we were good to go, we derobed and took the plunge. I think these picture set the tone of the event:

Before:

She's eyeing the water with trepidation.....

During:

You can see what she thinks of being in the water....

After:

All better!!!! I think she fake cries more than a drama queen....

She smells great! Looks great!! and slept pretty well for her first shift. Her second shift (midnight to 7am) was a bit shaky.

Second Pedi Appt

We were on the run today with lots of fun things happening. We had our 2 week follow up with the Midwives, sushi lunch, and second pedi appt for Abby. A busy day and now I'm pooped!

The Midwife appt went well. We met with Mary Jo and chatted about how we're all doing. I asked to weigh in, and I'm officially 20 pounds down. I'm feeling great, Abby's doing well, and Tim is fantastic! She may have suggested I might be overdoing it a bit because of the color of my blood flow. Okay, okay, I'll sit my butt on the couch. That's not going to help with the additional 20 pounds I need to lose!

Next up? Lunch at the Asiana House. Yummyyy! We treated ourselves to a nice sushi lunch out with our peanut. In fact, this was the first time I nursed in public and it went awesome! A blanket covered up everything and she started feeding as soon as I got my entree - figures, right? Good thing chop sticks only need one hand. I did need to use a napkin over the blanket to wipe up the dripping soy sauce as I ate as if I hadn't eaten in a week. Mmmm, I love Sushi!

Finally, we went to Abby's Pediatrician appt at 2:30. We met with Dr. Rinehart, Dr. Hagen's partner in crime. She is very soothing and has a calming affect with babies. As she examined Abby, she didn't fuss a bit! She weigh's 7 pounds 9 ounces - YEAH!!!!!! She's back to her birth weight and then some. This puts her into the 50-75 %tile. She is also in the 50-75 percentile for height. They measured her at 20 3/4". And finally, the circumference of her head is in the 75-90 %tile! She either has Daddy's big head or Mommy's brains. We'll see what happens.

What a filled day! Off to nap!
