It's a SeaGull, Tim.

Tim and I are slowly packing up the condo and we're finding all sorts of gems. Today's gem was a painting done by his Memere. She was an accomplished painter and most of the family has a landscape picture or two of hers. The picture going up to the second floor is a picture of Tim and his Pepere gazing out onto the Cape Cod Canal. Taking down the frame on our stairs, I noticed writing on the back.

Here's what it says:

"Pepere, what is it?"

"It's a seagull, Tim."

Now, one might think this is a simple conversation, but it meant so much more to me. I realized, that as I was taking down the picture, I was in turn allowing Abby to have these same moments with her grandparents and extended family. Moments of sincere joy, simplicity, and love.

In the past few weeks I have doubted the transition because of the financial implications, but I know deep in my heart we're making the right decision.

Even if it's for the seagulls...

No teeth?

Surprisingly this post isn't about Abby :-) Tim and I had today off to take care of Tim's broken tooth. Some you may have heard this story. It goes like this. Fun day at PCC (Tim's work); paint ball; rain; running for his life (well, not really); fall in the mud; paint ball gun hits Tim in the chin; 5 stitches and a broken tooth. Soooo, Tim opted for a pulled tooth and implant. I was his driver and I was hoping to see a loopy Tim post surgery, but he did fantastic. Ninety minutes after our arrival we were drinking iced coffee..me through a straw and Tim gulping...with one less tooth.

I suspect he may have just given that to Abby - we'll soon see!

Happy Half Birthday!

Yup, six months!

We visited our pediatrician in Vermont for the last time :-( Her appointment went well and we have full clearance to begin the fun of solids. Lots of fruit and veggies coming her way!

Height: 24.75" = 19th%tile
Weight: 14lbs 11oz = 26th %tile
Head Circ: 41.75cm = 32nd %tile

She's still our fabulous peanut! She's grabbing for everything, gives wide open mouthed kisses, laughs, blows raspberries when she's having fun AND when she's frustrated. She gets frustrated easily...hmmmm, I wonder who she takes after?

Abby's First Flower...

Abby and I went on our last walk with Laura and Ben. Laura and I used to work together at VTB and carpooled when gas was over $4.00 a few summers ago. She and her family are moving back to the midwest on Tuesday! :-( We've stopped to play at the playground on our way home. We were trying out the swing when Ben surprised Abby with her first dandelion. Seriously, the most adorable thing....

I didn't let her eat it!

Just letting you know...

Just letting you know that when I moved to Boston in May 2002, I knew I'd move back to Maine at some point, but it was nice to live in a different city with different people....

Just letting you know that when I moved to Vermont I told Tim that I'd move back to Maine, with or without him....

Just letting you know that the more I travel, the more I love Maine....

Just letting you know, the Proctor family will become Maine residents officially on June 15th, 2010. The day we close on the condo. :-)

No, I do not have a job. Yes, we are living with my parents. Yes, I'm excited to have the summer off - well hopefully a small portion of it. Yes, Tim is still working for PCC - just remotely.

It's certainly a very bittersweet decision as we love Vermont; what is has to offer and the opportunities we've had. We've been very fortunate. We're excited for a new adventure and hope our next chapter is as blessed as this one.

Just letting you know.....

Happy Mother's Day!

Motherhood is a pretty cool journey and it's nice to have one specific day to honor all Mother's, but I think I'm one of the lucky ones. I feel like it's Mother's Day every day. Tim and Abby are just THAT good.
