Pine Point

Of the best spots for a little surf and fun is Pine Point in Scarborough.  Just down the road from Old Orchard beach is this little gem.  We often will just scoot over to Crescent Beach as it is just around the corner from our house, but it's always fun to have an excuse to go to another hot spot.  One my college girlfriends was in town on vacation and it was the perfect opportunity to take a quick trip down the road.  Abby and Sam were loving the warmer water, waves rolling in, and playing with the boogie boards and kids.  We can't wait for our Cape Cod vacation in just a few short weeks. 

Princess and Pirates at the Sea Dogs

This might have just been one of the highlights from the summer.  At least for Abby that is...

Inspired by a video that went viral, Daddy and Abby had their first date at the Sea Dogs.  And, it just happened to be Princess and Pirate night at Hadlock.  Abby was dressed up in her Sophia the First outfit, adorned with a tiara, and of course her Queen Elsa doll - as she was on her way to meet said princess.

Turns out it was a pretty magical night.  Date night, princesses, gorgeous face painting, and a Sea Dog's win!

Strawberry Picking 2014

Funny story about our picking adventures.  The kids has a blast and we picked a few pounds before we headed out.  I snuck back with Abby on July 4th and we picked almost 20 pounds in 20 minutes.  We scooted 15 feet in one row and got the whole lot.  We put the flat of berries in the oven to help prevent any fruit flies.  The next morning I decided to whip up a batch of jam bars and forgot the berries were in the oven.  All 20 pounds got cooked by the preheat.  Fortunately,I quickly destemmed threw them in the freezer.  However, they are still quite overripe.  Hopefully the jam 2014 will turn out okay!

Independence Day

We braved the weather and made our way up to Freeport with friends for a free L.L. Bea sponsored show.  Toad the Wet Sprocket was playing and Tim was excited to go with some college friends.  Who am I to say no to dinner out, playing in the rain, and a field trip to the ever popular flagship store? We had a blast!

We continued the celebration by enjoying Sebago Lake with Chris, Jen and family.  Fabulous weekend enjoying the best of Maine.
